Bikini Model Key Judging Elements

Bikini models should display:

  • A toned small waist / midsection. Tight abdominal control and no bloating/distension displayed in side on poses.
  • Full, shapely, firm glutes without any dimpling.  Glutes should remain full and firm when walking on stage.
  • A small amount of upper body development including a slight roundness to the shoulders (cap) and back width to enhance an hourglass shape. 
  • Overall shape, curves and an hourglass silhouette.  
  • Judges are also looking for overall beauty, effortless posing and stage walk as well as confidence on stage. 

Judges are not looking for:

  • Extreme conditioning to the detriment of fullness and shape.
  • Dense/excessive muscle or extreme muscle separation.  No visible striations.
  • Separation through the quads from the front and no detailed glute / hamstring tie ins from the rear. 
  • Dense muscle and detail through the upper body and back.
  • Dimpling or loose skin especially in the glutes while walking on stage.
  • No hands above head (holding up hair) in rear poses.  Hair should not be lifted up off the back in rear poses. 
  • No overly exaggerated bending at the hips when facing the rear of the stage.
  • Bikini bottom cuts should not be too narrow as to look like a g-string on stage.
  • Leg and/or arm pieces are not permitted during the prejudging rounds.
