Wellness Model Key Judging Elements

Wellness models should display:

  • Imbalance between upper and lower body with a focus on a fuller but firm lower body.
  • More upper body muscle development than that of the bikini categories.
  • A toned small waist / midsection. Tight abdominal control and no bloating/distension displayed in side on poses.
  • Very well developed lower body with extreme curves to the legs and glutes.
  • Shape and sweep to the quadriceps with some visible separation in front poses.
  • Some visible lines / separation between the quads and hamstrings from side poses.
  • Balance between quad and hamstrings and not overly quad dominant from the side.
  • Although the Wellness model is fuller in the lower body, tightness and tone of the skin without dimpling is required through the legs and glutes.

Judges are not looking for:

  • Extreme conditioning to the detriment of fullness and shape.
  • No flexing to display striations in upper or lower body.
  • No overly dominant quads compared to hamstrings and glutes.
  • Thick, blocky midsection.
  • Dimpling or loose skin especially in the glutes while walking on stage.
  • Visible or unnatural looking glute implants.
  • No overly exaggerated bending at the hips when facing the rear of the stage.
  • Bikini bottom cuts should not be too narrow as to look like a g-string on stage.
